 The Syrians celebrate numerous feasts in a year. All feasts are not equally important. They can be divided into 4 grades according to their importance.
Feasts of Grade I are known as moronoyo feasts (the Syriac word moronoyo means "the Lord's"). The feasts related to the important incidents of Christ's life on earth come under this group. Special prayers and the Eucharist will be offered in all churches and the whole Church is expected to observe them. All Sundays come under this group. |
